Hi there,
Did you ever think you’d take professional advice from a meme?
There’s a first time for everything.
⚡ Supercharge of the Week

Put a bird on it. 🐦 You might remember this meme from about ten years ago. But what does it have to do with supercharging cross-functional collaboration?
Remote Octopus recommends: Put a logo on it. Ensure that your company logo is at the top of key cross-functional documents and internal knowledge management tools. The logo provides a visual cue for collaboration by anchoring colleagues in company values.
✔ Team Agenda? Put a logo on it.
✔ Project Template? Put a logo on it.
✔ Confluence page? Put a logo on it.
✔ That random team brainstorming Google Doc? Put a logo on it.
✔ Is your logo a bird? Even better. (Just kidding.)
If your internal documentation is currently missing logos, you might:
Experiment with putting logos on your existing or new documents that your own, such as agendas and various internal docs. As you model putting a logo on it, you can gauge the team reaction with potential bottom-up buy-in for scaling logo use more broadly with internal documents.
Rally your team with the idea of putting a logo on existing and new documents to collectively establish buy-in and expectations for logo use on specific documents moving forward. Different colleagues would be responsible for updating their own documents with logos moving forward.
Shout out cross-functional expertise. If your logo was designed in-house by an awesome Marketing or brand team, use this as an opportunity to give them a cross-functional shout-out during a team call or on Slack to recognize their expertise.
Need the logo PNG? Reach out to your Marketing or Brand team for the high-res version of your company logo. Then ensure everyone on your team has access to it. If you’re a tiny team and no one can find this file, screenshot the logo on your website for now (then go hire someone to help build out your internal knowledge management).

Improved collaboration. Increased employee engagement. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Want all of that for your team? Start implementing regular project retrospectives.
If you’re an Agile practitioner, then this all might sound familiar. The last principle of the Agile Manifesto is: “At regular intervals, the team reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behavior accordingly.” The perfect fit for The Retro Template.
